Arborists

This unit is ideal for safe exposure of tree roots that could be damaged by more traditional means such as waterblasting the soil, mini-diggers or shovels. As a non-destructive process, the Air Vac Trax Unit is perfectly suited to situations where excavation is needed in areas close to sensitive trees, landscaping, utilities and other infrastructure. When used to excavate for tree planting, Air vacuum excavation brings the added benefit not having to leave the site to refill water.

Importantly, unlike other tools, such as backhoes, traditional excavators or mattocks, the Air vacuum excavation process, when done correctly, minimises the risk of damage.

Arborists Advantages

When it comes to using high pressure air around tree roots, there are several advantages:

1. Minimized Soil Disturbance: High pressure air can help aerate the soil without disturbing the roots as much as water might. This is important for maintaining the health of the tree.

2. Reduced Risk of Root Damage: Water can saturate the soil and potentially damage the roots, especially in compacted areas. Air can provide the necessary pressure to move soil without causing harm.

3. Less Soil Erosion: Using air reduces the risk of soil erosion around the tree, which can happen with high pressure water, especially if the water causes soil to wash away.

4. Improved Drainage: Air can help improve drainage in the soil, which is beneficial for root health, as it allows for better oxygen flow and prevents water logging.

5. Targeted Application: Air can be directed more precisely to specific areas around the roots, allowing for targeted aeration

Arborists can also take advantage of the ability to calibrate different levels of airpressure to utilise their Air Vacuum Unit as an ideal, damage free technique formultiple smaller tasks. Air Vacuum Unit exposes and cleans off roots and existinginfrastructure, giving the operator clear access to the job at hand. This makes the process an ideal technique to use for tasks such as:

  • root inspections done as part of pest insect and disease management,

  • root deflector and barrier installations,

  • selective root pruning and

  • isolation of root ball in transplanting
